500 Ecclesiastical piggy banks signal donation

Ecclesiastical Insurance is attempting to identify the good causes the public like, and will then £1m donated to these charitable causes this summer.

The Movement for Good Awards will award 500 good causes with £1,000 and 10 worth £50,000, intended to further innovation and research. To mark the occasion, 500 piggy banks have appeared in cities around the UK, symbolising the pots of money that will be given away. Winners will be drawn at random and the more times a charity is nominated the more chance it has of being selected.

Owned by a charity, Ecclesiastical gives all its profits to charity and has given £100m to charity over the past five years, making it the fourth largest corporate giver in the UK.

Mark Hews, Group CEO of Ecclesiastical, says: “As a company which exists to contribute to the greater good of society, charitable giving is at the heart of our business. We are thrilled to announce the launch of the Movement for Good awards which will help charities change lives for the better and we know that for many charities, £1,000 can make a real difference.”

Nominations can be made here.
