Fundraising Regulator appoints new head of policy

The Fundraising Regulator has appointed Priya Warner as its new head of policy as of 1 October 2018.

Warner joins the regulator with 11 years’ experience in the field of policy and ethics. She previously worked at the General Pharmaceutical Council, where she spent two years as the head of policy and standards, and five years as head of standards and fitness to practise policy.

During her time at the General Pharmaceutical Council, Warner developed evidence-based standards for pharmacy professionals, led the development of decision-making guidance, and introduced new ways of embedding regulatory standards.

Commenting on the appointment, the Fundraising Regulator’s chief executive, Gerald Oppenheim said: “I’m very pleased to welcome Priya as head of our policy team, where she’ll be playing a key role in our strategic development and driving the agenda on charitable fundraising, particularly the outcome of the consultation on changes to the Code of Fundraising Practice.”

Warner added: “I’m happy to be joining the Fundraising Regulator at this exciting time in its development. I’m looking forward to developing ways to engage the public on fundraising issues, and establishing a programme of research to support the regulator’s work.”
