Which? appoints former Save the Children COO as new chief exec

Consumer charity, Which?, has announced the appointment Anabel Hoult as its new chief executive.

Hoult will succeed Peter Vicray-Smith, who has led the organisation since 2004. She will lead the group in its mission to fight for the rights of consumers and will commence her role on 1 October 2018.

She comes from a background of delivering transformational growth and improved operational performance in a range of sectors, including retail, consumer services, fintech and the charity sector.

Most recently, she led the transformation and the merger of Dixons and Carphone Warehouse to form Dixons Carphone Warehouse plc.

She was also previously the COO of Save the Children where she implemented a five-year strategy to double impact for children, increase revenues and build supporter engagement.

Commenting on her appointment, Which? chair of trustees, Tim Gardam said: “Anabel has a compelling blend of commercial and charitable experience and under her stewardship we look forward to making an even greater impact, championing the interests of all consumers in a digital economy.”

Hoult added: “I am proud to be joining Which? to continue developing its role and reach as a consumer champion at this pivotal point in its history.”
