New chief executive and chair at Brainstrust

Brainstrust has appointed a new chair and its first chief executive.

Will Jones has been promoted to chief executive from his previous role as director of development. Jones has been with the charity for seven years, and currently also fulfils advisory roles with Cancer Research UK and the National Cancer Registration and Analysis Service.

Chris Baker has been appointed chair. Baker is the UK managing director of global technology company Concur, and has been a Brainstrust trustee since 2011.

Brainstrust supports tumour patients and caregivers across the UK via its phone, email, and online services. It has regional hubs in Scotland, the North of England and the central South Coast, and plans to expand into more regions over the next 12 months.

The charity has also confirmed the appointment Stephen Warrington as a new trustee. Warrington brings experience leading professional services businesses and consulting for major multinationals. His teenage son was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent successful surgery.
