Citizens Advice

Steve Hughes is joining Citizens Advice as an executive director of client and member services in January 2026.

Hughes previously held senior leadership roles across local government, housing, and the voluntary sector - most recently as Assistant Director of Strategy & Transformation at Oldham Council - and is a Non-Executive Director at South Lakes Housing.

He has also served as COO of Citizens Advice Stockport, Oldham, Rochdale and Trafford, and was a trustee of national Citizens Advice for three years.

Lia's Wings

The UK’s only aeroplane ambulance charity, Lia’s Wings, which provides life-saving air transfers for children by plane within the UK and overseas, has welcomed Nathalie Scott as Chief Executive Officer.

She will be focused on growing the service to meet the 'enormous UK and international demand' that the charity is now experiencing.

Previous CEO, Charlotte Young, will step into a new role as Chief Operating Officer.

Macmillan Cancer Support

Macmillan Cancer Support has announced that chair of Virgin Money UK Plc David Bennett and senior NHS leader Sir Ron Kerr have joined the charity’s Board of Trustees.

Bennett will take on the role of chair and Kerr will take on the role of chair of the Charitable Expenditure Committee, both from April 2026. 

Prostate Cancer UK

Prostate Cancer UK has announced the appointment of two new members of the charity’s board: Karen Bonner and Rebecca Granger.

Bonner joins as a trustee with a deep personal connection to the cause, after over a decade of service to the charity as a volunteer following her father’s death in 2010. She has over 30 years of nursing experience in primary, secondary and tertiary care, including working in urology at Guy’s, St Thomas’ and Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. She is currently the Regional Chief Nurse for London and a Fellow of the Queens Nursing Institute for Community Nursing.

Granger joins as a trustee after a six-year term on the Board of Penny Brohn UK. She is the head of digital Innovation at Ramsay Health Care UK and has led technological change at scale in organisations like Nuffield Health, and in smaller, start-up organisations like TechnoMed.
