Asthma + Lung

Asthma + Lung UK has announced the appointment of Dr Matthew Swallow and Nazir Hussain FRCPharm to join the lung charity in its Clinical Lead role.

Swallow is a GP in the West Midlands and works on respiratory care for the area’s Integrated Care System (ICS). In recent years he has served as one of Asthma + Lung UK’s Respiratory Champions, driving improvements across the West Midlands.

Hussain is a multi-award-winning specialist pharmacist from the West Midlands and is also a member of Asthma + Lung UK’s Council of Health Care Professionals. He has a passion for reducing health inequalities and improving respiratory care. Much of Nazir’s work has been focused on redesigning services, so care reaches the people who need it most, improving population health outcomes and strengthening collaboration between communities and healthcare services.

Glaucoma UK
Glaucoma UK has appointed Professor Cecilia Fenerty as its new chair of trustees following the charity’s Annual General Meeting in March 2026.

Fenerty succeeds Professor Anthony King, who stepped down after completing four years as Chair and nine years in total as a trustee.

Fenerty brings more than 25 years’ experience as a consultant ophthalmologist. She is widely respected for her work across clinical practice, service delivery and system‑level improvement, and has a long‑standing commitment to improving outcomes for people living with glaucoma.

Pennies
Pennies, the charity enabling micro-donations at checkout, has announced a series of senior leadership appointments.

Marian Duxbury has been appointed as Chief Finance Officer and Jim Dolan as Chief Transformation and Technology Officer.

Duxbury brings experience in financial leadership across international retailers, including AllSaints and Monsoon Accessorize. A chartered accountant, she joins from BrandAlley, where she served as Group CFO and COO, and will oversee Pennies’ financial strategy and continued expansion.

Dolan has expertise in digital transformation and technology strategy, having led large-scale programmes including omni-channel, cloud and AI initiatives for global organisations. At Pennies, he will lead the continued evolution of the charity’s digital giving solution.

Royal Voluntary Service

The Royal Voluntary Service has welcomed five new trustees; Robin Mills, John O’Brien MBE, Lynne Peabody, Joe Seddon and Brigid Sutcliffe.

Robin Mills is chief executive of Compass Group UK & Ireland, where he has led the food and support services company since 2019.

John O’Brien MBE is the founder of Anthropy, a leadership gathering focused on the future of Britain, and an advocate for responsible business, focused on purpose-led performance and leadership in a changing world. He formerly held an executive leadership role as EMEA Managing Partner of an agency group at Omnicom.

Lynne Peabody is chief executive officer of EY Foundation, the social mobility charity.

Joe Seddon is Founder and CEO of Zero Gravity, a technology platform that finds the young people the system misses and provides them with the support and tools they need to get ahead in education and work.

Brigid Sutcliffe is an experienced non-executive director across listed, private, public and third sector organisations in a range of industries, she is also a Trustee of Muscular Dystrophy UK.
