Fundraising Regulator appoints external Standards Committee member

Lori Houlihan has been appointed an external member of the Standards Committee, joining the committee from the start of the New Year. Currently, the Vice-Provost at University College London (UCL) Houlihan has five years’ experience as Executive Director of Development and Alumni Relations at UCL, where she oversaw one of the largest fundraising and supporter engagement campaigns in Europe.

The Standards Committee oversees the development of the Fundraising Code and the guidance that relates to it, in consultation with fundraisers and donors. It maintains fundraising standards by making sure they reflect current fundraising practices, changes to relevant legislation and the expectations of the public.

Houlihan said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the Fundraising Regulator Standards Committee, who work so hard to uphold transparency and accountability in the fundraising sector. Higher Education has its own fundraising characteristics and I’ll be ensuring that these are reflected in developing the standards for UK fundraisers.”
