How did you land your current role, and what was your career path leading up to it?
With 26 years’ experience in relationship management, marketing, and entrepreneurship, I worked with governments, CEOs, and global brands including British Airways, Virgin, and Quintessentially. It was, however, my own personal journey, that led me to explore complementary therapies like meditation, breathwork, and reflexology — where I eventually turned to supporting others one-to-one in their own healing journey. I felt deeply driven by a passion for wellbeing and social equity, which led me to set up the Beyond Boundaries Foundation with the sole aim to make holistic support accessible to make complementary therapies and practices accessible to those facing physical, mental and emotional health challenges. I see my current role as being on a mission focused on closing gaps and transforming lives through integrated wellbeing solutions.
What is the most interesting part of your job?
I think meeting and connecting with so many people from so many different backgrounds. The sense of connection and collaboration has strengthened my determination to make the work of the charity a success and continually grow this community of like-minded, caring and supportive people. I love learning about everyone’s own stories, their challenges and how they resonate with the purpose of the charity through their own discoveries and journey to wellbeing.
What would be your alternative career?
I’ve experienced so many career avenues, but always come back to working with people. I would love to share the passion, belief and proof that complementary therapies and practice can and do support physical and mental health as a key note speaker. I would love to be able to help others recognise and understand what they can do to support their own health and wellbeing and truly THRIVE.
What inspired you to work in the charity sector?
After overcoming and learning to manage my own health struggles, I know first-hand that incorporating holistic practices into my daily lifestyle plays a vital role in the management of my symptoms and overall health. This combined transformative approach and personal experience truly inspired me to want to empower others to access the same benefits to health, whatever their life situation.
What challenges do you face in your day-to-day work?
One, which I think we can all relate to, is time, and there never being enough of it, along with funding for all we would love to do and deliver to support the community. With running a charity, there is always I think also the admin side to it, which as important and necessary as it is, can sometimes take away time from doing the actual charity work that you set out to do and as I am limited with the number of hours I am able to work, due to my own health challenges the hours I have day to day disappear quickly. Working in the 3rd sector and running a charity means there is ALWAYS more that needs doing!
What would make the biggest positive difference to the sector right now?
I think perhaps more opportunities and accessibility to have discussions on how we can move towards a more combined transformative approach to help people achieve and access complementary and holistic wellbeing services and resources.
Our online resource hub, in-person workshops, therapeutic talks, and holistic events are evidenced and recognised as having a positive impact, working alongside conventional medicine, offering a truly integrated approach to health and wellbeing.
For Beyond Boundaries Foundation, our hope in 2026 is to partner and work with official bodies, healthcare professionals, and institutions, collaborating more and relieving the strain on government resources. As we achieve this more and more, I feel Beyond Boundaries Foundation will have a massive positive impact on those needing the support.
