Refugee charities receive £83,000 from Celebrity Traitors winners

The 'Faithful' winners of this year’s BBC TV Celebrity Traitors show have donated their prize fund to charities supporting refugees.

Comedian and TV presenter Romesh Ranganathan has donated his half of the prize pot to the Refugee Council, which he is a patron of.

While singer and actor Sebastian “Bash” Croft has handed his share to Choose Love, which supports displaced LGBTQIA+ people.

“We're beside ourselves with delight and cheering at the top of our voices to celebrate our Patron, Romesh Ranganathan winning BBC Celebrity Traitors,” said the Refugee Council.

“We've followed every minute and every laugh that Romesh has created in the Traitor's Castle, and we're so proud of the game he played.

“We're delighted that Romesh chose Refugee Council, the nation's refugee charity, as his nominated choice. Our work supports refugees to rebuild their lives in Britain. We're here come rain or shine, helping refugees rebuild and thrive.”

In a message on Instagram Choose Love, which was previously known as Help Refugees, said to Croft “we are so proud of you” and “thank you for always choosing love”.

When he announced his choice of charity Croft specially mentioned the charity's support for “Queer refugees and displaced people”.
