Good causes gift card boss to lead hospice charity

Wiltshire based charity Prospect Hospice has announced that Jeremy Lune is to take over as its next chief executive in May.

He is to replace Irene Watkins, who has led the charity for the last five years, and joins from Cards for Good Causes where he has been chief executive since 2016.

He is also a former head of trading at CLIC Sargent, which is now Young Lives vs Cancer, and has held several management positions in the retail sector.

“Prospect Hospice is an organisation that does incredible work, delivering palliative and end of life care to those who need it; work that is only going to become more important in the future,” said Lune.

“Everything that the hospice does is driven by the people in our community, which I find to be truly inspirational, and I consider it a genuine privilege to be joining the organisation as it looks to the future.”

The charity’s chair Kevin Howard added: “It was a highly competitive field and candidates were put through an intense interview process to find the person that was right to lead the charity though its new strategy and beyond. In Jeremy we’ve found someone who is more than suited to the role.

“He brings with him a wealth of charity experience but, above that, an understanding of what it takes to make a charity like ours work.

"He’s familiar with the area, is experienced in retail and income generation and, what impressed us most, was his consideration for the people that make Prospect Hospice what it is; our staff, volunteers, patients and community that supports our work.”.
