Funder set up by film making legend announces new CEO

The Rank Foundation, which was set up by legendary film maker Arthur Rank, has promoted its deputy chief executive Caroline Broadhurst as its next chief executive.

She has taken up the role this summer and replaces David Sanderson. Broadhurst has been deputy chief executive at the funder since 2014.

Her appointment comes ahead of a strategic planning consultation to launch this autumn.

The funder supports communities across the UK to encourage leadership and “entrepreneurial mindsets” to tackle challenges in society.

“It’s a privilege to have worked alongside David Sanderson and our inspiring Network for so many years and now I’m proud to lead The Rank Foundation into its next chapter,” said Broadhurst.

“Our mission remains rooted in people and place - investing in communities and the leaders within them. I will build on this legacy by listening to the Rank Network and working collaboratively to strengthen communities across the UK.”

The funder’s chair added: “Caroline has been intimately involved in many of our existing programmes and has played a critical role in Rank’s evolvement under the stewardship of her predecessor.

“The continuity that Caroline brings, mixed with her innovative approach and knowledge of the sector, will allow Rank to continue to maximise the impact of its work.

“I have every confidence that Caroline will lead the Foundation with vision and compassion as we move into our next chapter.”
