Digital benchmarking study deadline looms

Charities have less than three weeks to sign up to a digital benchmarking project to help them compare their performance across the UK and US voluntary sector.

The M+R Benchmarks Study aims to offer the non-profit sector a set of “comprehensive and reliable” benchmarks against a raft of data about charities digital capabilities.

The study has taken place in the US for 14 years and in 2020 is open to UK charities for the first time.

Charities wanting to take part can sign up here. The deadline to take part is 11th December.

Areas of charity work included in the study are:

• Digital advertising & fundraising transactions
• Email marketing performance
• Email list size
• Mobile fundraising
• Social media
• Web traffic

The study is being coordinated in the UK by campaign consultancies M+R and Rally.

“The M+R Benchmarks Study is an annual look at nonprofit digital programmes. For 14 years M+R has collected data on fundraising, advocacy, marketing, digital ads, social media, SMS, and more from dozens of nonprofits,” say organisers.

“Then they have provided averages, analysis, and insights to help guide digital strategy. All the findings are made freely available.”
