Community Integrated Care (CIC)’s chief executive Mark Adams will leave at the end of September, the social care charity has announced.

He is leaving after five years to take up the same role within healthcare based in the United Arab Emirates.

“Mark has made a remarkable difference at Community Integrated Care,” said the charity’s chair Libby Raper.

“He has been an outstanding leader, driving considerable transformation within his tenure, strengthening the charity at every level, and becoming a passionate champion for the Social
Care sector. Will we all miss Mark hugely, and he will leave with our sincerest thanks and best wishes for his next step.”

She added that that the leadership team will be “working closely with Mark” to “ensure consistency of leadership” as it looks for his successor.

Adams said: “Serving as Community Integrated Care’s CEO has been an incredible honour and will forever be the highlight of my forty-year career.

“I feel unbelievably privileged to have witnessed first-hand, the life-changing support that social care provides to society, and the transformative work of our frontline teams, who truly create the best lives possible for the thousands of people we support.”

Last year CIC became one of the largest charities to announce a four day week. The move allowed more than 300 staff to take either Mondays or Friday’s off as well as offering options to work under hybrid arrangements, combining home and office working.
