Church and community group support charity Transforming Nottinghamshire Together has announced it has closed.
The decision to cease operations with immediate effect will lead to the redundancy of its four staff members.
The charity said that for the last 15 months it has been “wrestling to gain sufficient grant funding to fulfil its aims” of support churches to help people impacted by poverty.
Its chair Bishop Peter Hill said: “Our dedicated staff have been working effectively for over a decade equipping and drawing together the churches and many organisations in towns across the county who are at the forefront of helping people and communities to thrive.
“It is with heavy hearts that we had to acknowledge our resources were inadequate to move forward into the coming year.”
He said: “We are grateful to the many people and trust funds who have supported our work” and…and apologise to those churches and groups who we have supported and who we will no longer be able to help. There is much still to do.”
Its income has exceeded its spending twice over the last five financial years, according to its latest accounts.
For its last submitted accounts for the 12 months to December 2024 the charity’s income was £110,000, while it spent £108,000 that financial year.
