Children’s Society director to take charge of Premier League club’s foundation

Brighton and Hove Albion’s Foundation has appointed Children’s Society executive director for social impact Joe Jenkins as its next chief executive.

He joins the Premier League club’s charitable arm in March after 10 years in senior roles at the Children’s Society, including stints as its director of supporter impact and income and executive director of engagement and income generation.

He is also a former director of engagement at Friends of the Earth and spent seven years on Refugee Action’s board, including two years as vice chair.

A priority for Jenkins at the club’s foundation will be organising celebrations around its 35th anniversary.

“I am incredibly proud to be joining the Foundation at such an important moment in its journey,” said Jenkins.

“The Foundation has a strong reputation for delivering meaningful, life-changing work, and I am excited to build on that legacy.

“I’m passionate about using the power of football to create opportunity, improve wellbeing and support young people and communities across Sussex, and I’m really looking forward to working with the existing team, partners and participants to grow our impact together.”

The club’s CEO Paul Barber added: “The Foundation plays a vital role in our connection to the local community, and we’re delighted to see Joe lead this work forward and help strengthen the positive impact the club has across Sussex.”
