CAF policy head to become 'philanthropoid in residence' at grant giver

Charities Aid Foundation head of policy Rhodri Davies is leaving to take on a new role with grant giver the Pears Foundation.

Davies is leaving CAF in September to work in a new role at the Foundation to ramp up its focus on philanthropy.

He said the role will be “both to develop a new entity focused on furthering engagement with philanthropy and also helping them with their own thinking on philanthropy issues, as a sort of “philanthropoid in residence”.

The actual job title is to be confirmed, added Davies, who joined CAF 11 years ago.

He added that he also aims to carry on podcasting around philanthropic issues.

Earlier this year Scouts and Girlguiding were handed £2m from the Pears Foundation to improve their recruitment of volunteers. This involves using technology to review and improve the experience of volunteering.
