British Heart Foundation fundraising initiative offers £3m home as prize

British Heart Foundation is offering a £3m house in London as a prize as part of an innovative fundraising initiative.

The charity has linked up with prize giving organisation Omaze to offer people the chance to win the home in Fulham, London.

The winner of the home through the Million Pound House Draw will be announced on 9 April, 2021.

“Our partnership with Omaze comes as we face the biggest crisis in our 60-year history and hearts need more help than ever,” said BHF
“The dream house they're offering is not only a life changing prize but most importantly, it will raise much needed funds for pioneering research,” the charity added.

Through the link up 80% of the net proceeds will be donated to BHF, with a minimum of £100,000 being donated.

The initiative comes as the charity looks to income losses through the Covid-19 pandemic. This has included loss of retail income from the closure of more than 600 of its shops during the second national lockdown.

Earlier this year the BHF restructured to make savings, which saw three of its senior executives leave.

Other fundraising initiatives by BHF this year have included a Black Friday donations campaign urging people to donate any unwanted goods they were looking to replace in Black Friday sales.
