Become
Become has appointed Anela Anwar as chief executive, starting 3 November 2025. She joins from anti-poverty charity Z2K and brings extensive third sector leadership experience, including roles at Oxfam and the Asylum Support Appeals Project. A law graduate and former youth worker, she has championed rights-based approaches to social justice throughout her career.

Birthrights
Hazel Williams has been appointed CEO of Birthrights, bringing leadership experience from Justice Together, NACCOM, and the Asylum Support Appeals Project. A trained Birth Doula and human rights advocate, she will lead the charity’s anti-oppression-focused strategy to improve maternity care for marginalised communities starting 3 November.

NCVO
Kate Lee OBE has been appointed Chief Executive of NCVO, starting this autumn. Formerly CEO of Alzheimer’s Society, Lee brings extensive leadership experience and a strong track record of championing charities and volunteers. Awarded an OBE in 2024, she will lead NCVO through a major strategic review shaping its future direction.

The Talk About Trust
Steve Morton has been appointed CEO of The Talk About Trust, bringing extensive charity sector experience from roles at NSPCC, Action on Addiction, The Deaf Academy, and Rowcroft Hospice. He succeeds founder Helena Conibear, who steps back after 15 years to become High Sheriff of Dorset in 2026–27.

The Churchill Fellowship
The Churchill Fellowship has appointed Mark Damazer CBE, former Controller of BBC Radio 4 and Master of St Peter’s College, Oxford, as Chair Designate, and Marina Brounger, experienced charity trustee and former Advisory Council member, to its board of trustees. Damazer will succeed Jeremy Soames as Chair in January 2026, bringing decades of leadership in public service and broadcasting. Brounger adds deep governance expertise and a long-standing connection to the Fellowship’s mission.
