World Book Day charity CEO to step down

Cassie Chadderton is to step down as chief executive of the charity that runs World Book Day.

She joined the charity as its first CEO in 2019 after spending several years in theatre and arts roles, including as director of communications planning at Arts Council England. She also spent four years as publicity director at publisher Random House Group.

“I’ve had five and a bit brilliant years as World Book Day 's first chief executive,” she said.

“It’s been a pleasure and a privilege to build the charity's impact, to unlock the fun and benefits of reading for more children.

“I’m so proud to have worked alongside so many talented, committed individuals, both within the World Book Day team and across the sector, and to leave the charity in a stronger position for the future."

She added: “Now it’s time to pass on the baton, and explore new adventures and opportunities.”
