Learning disability charity names next CEO

Devon based Lifeworks, which supports people with learning disabilities, has appointed Laura Fraser-Crewes as its next chief executive.

Across a 30-year career working with socially excluded children and adults she has managed a women’s refuge and a probation hostel in London and a detox and rehabilitation centre in Leeds.

She joins Lifeworks from Sunflower Women’s Centre in Devon where she was strategic lead.

She has also worked for Plymouth’s learning disability service and taught personal development at HMP Dartmoor.

“I am excited to join Lifeworks and to achieve great things with vulnerable children and adults in Devon. I am keen to support the great work that is being accomplished and use my skills to expand Lifeworks’ offering across the region,” said Fraser-Crewes.

Lifeworks chair Paul Clarkson added that “with such a wealth of expertise, experience and proven results” her appointment “is an important strategic step forward for the charity”.
