Government looking for impact economy advisory group members

The government is looking for experts to join its impact economy advisory group to help improve philanthropy and social investment.

Charity, trust and foundation leaders are being urged to apply to join the Impact Economy Advisory Council, as are those who lead purpose driven businesses.

The government said it is seeking a “diversity of voices” based on “protected characteristics, geographies, and organisation size”.

Candidates must have a “deep understanding of the impact economy” and a track record of working in partnership to drive impact.

The Council will meet quarterly at the Cabinet Office, from Autumn this year.

The deadline for submitting a CV and statement of suitability is 23:59 Thursday 6 August. Interviews are expected during the week commencing 24th August.

The advisory group is being set up following the government’s launch of its Office of the Impact Economy to boost philanthropy last year. Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Darren Jones is its ministerial lead.

Setting up the Office for the Impact Economy was among recommendations made by a Social Impact Investment Advisory Group earlier this year involving the Treasury and the Department for Culture, Media and Sport.
