Former ACEVO chief takes temporary charge of advocacy charity

Former ACEVO chief executive Vicky Browning has been named as interim CEO of advocacy charity POhWER.

She replaces Helen Moulinos, who announced in July 2023 she was stepping down after three years leading the charity.

“Vicky brings extensive charity sector and commercial experience and has an enviable reputation as an honest, collaborative and humble leader,” said POhWER chair Antony Kildare.

Browning was chief executive of ACEVO for five years until June 2022 and was awarded an OBE for services to the charity sector last year. Her most recent role was interim CEO of business and charity collaboration organisation Whitehall & Industry Group.

She has been appointed from this week to head POhWER for an initial period of six months.

“I’m excited to be joining POhWER to lead the dedicated staff team in supporting people across the UK to have their voices heard, to uphold their rights, and to be involved in decisions about their lives,” said Browining.

Since September last year Moulinos has been vice chair of Amnesty International UK. Last year she also became an independent non-executive director at the Food Network for Ethical Trade.
