Covid-19 match funding worth £1m launches

Matchfunding worth £1m has been made available to charities to tackle the Covid-19 crisis by an online fundraising platform

Localgiving Foundation is now accepting applications for its £1m in match grant funding for charities that are supporting communities and people amid the pandemic.

The funding is available for charities providing services and support for vulnerable people impacted by the health crisis. Projects that connect communities and support communities during the pandemic are also being considered.

Successful applicants will be added to Localgiving’s match fund campaign, which launches on 27 October. Any donations received through the online fundraising platform will be matched using the £1m Covid Fund. There is no limit to the amount of grant charities can receive.

The funding will be in two stages:

- The first is between 10am on 27 October to 9:59am 3 November and donations will be matched up to £75.

- The second takes place between 10am on 3 November to12pm on 9 November and donations will be matched up to £5,000.

“Charitable organisations will be able to access an unlimited amount of funding through the campaign,” said Localgiving.

“Donors will be eligible to have one donation matched per charity during the first stage of the campaign and one donation matched per charity during the second stage of the campaign.”
