The number of contactless donations more than doubled between 2019 and this year, according to latest figures from a digital fundraising organisation.
Figures from Goodbox, which supplies contactless technology to charities, found that the number of individual donations increase from 32,000 in May 2019 to 78,000 in May 2021.
May 2021 was a record month for the platform. The previous monthly record was 70,000 December 2020 when charities benefitted from a break in lockdowns and a pre-Christmas giving boost.

Since 2015 GoodBox has managed 1m individual donations, raising £6m for charities.
