Yusen Logistics is making £210,000 in apprenticeship levy transfer funding available to help charities, not for profit organisations and NHS bodies develop digital and technical skills among their staff.
Over the next six months eligible organisations can access the finding in areas such as IT support, data analysis and digital marketing.
Yusen is working with its partner Baltic Apprenticeships to create learning and employment opportunities through the levy transfer beyond its own workforce.
“The initiative aims to strengthen workforces in sectors that deliver vital services but often face barriers to upskilling due to financial constraints,” said Yusen Logistics and Baltic Apprenticeships.
The apprenticeship levy is a government initiative whereby large employers can transfer unused levy funding to other organisations, often small businesses, charities and public sector organisations.
Yusen Logistics head of talent and development Clair Royle said: “Charitable and care organisations are the backbone of our communities.
"By transferring unused levy funds, we can help these sectors access the skills and support they need to keep making that difference.”
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Yusen Logistics to create more apprenticeship and training opportunities across the charity and non-profit sector,” added Baltic Apprenticeships senior account director Laura Steward.
“By using levy transfers in this way, we can help organisations make a real difference in their communities while supporting people to develop valuable new skills.”
Charities and other bodies interested in accessing this funding are urged to contact natalie.young@balticapprenticeships.com.
