Pets at Home Foundation pledges £250,000 to one national charity partner

The Pets at Home Foundation is launching a new charity initiative for summer 2022, which will result in a donation of £250,000 for one national charity.

Charities with a nationwide reach are being invited to apply to be the Foundation’s summer 2022 charity partner and following an initial selection process, Pets at Home colleagues will then take part in a company-wide vote to have the final say on who the chosen charity will be.

The selected charity will receive funding and support from the Pets at Home Group over a four-week appeal in July 2022.

The summer campaign will be in addition to a new Valentine’s weekend fundraiser, which together with the Santa Paws appeal, will support local rescues and charities across the country.

Pets at Home Foundation fundraising manager, Amy Wilson said: “2022 will be a very exciting year for the Foundation. Our new summer initiative opens the door for new national charity partners to benefit from our fundraising and we’re really looking forward to hearing from a range of them who can deliver services and projects on a national scale.

“Whilst we’re looking for one national charity partner for the summer, it’s really important to us that the chosen charity has strong links back to local communities and their work really benefits the people and pets in these communities."

To be considered for the summer fundraiser, charities must:
• Be registered as a charity in England & Wales or in Scotland
• Operate and deliver services in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, either solely or in partnership with another charitable organisation

Charities should be also be able to demonstrate that they:
1. They deliver services or projects on a national scale, but with strong relevance to local communities
2. Their cause and brand resonates with colleagues and customers in all Pets at Home locations
3. They understand Pets at Home as a business and the work of the Foundation
