FTSE 250 listed home assistance firm HomeServe UK has named end of life care charity Sue Ryder as its national charity partner.
The move comes as the company launches a new, post-Covid corporate social responsibility strategy.
The charity, which offers palliative, neurological and bereavement support, has been chosen following a vote among its staff.
They felt the charity mirrored the firm’s focus of helping people in their homes.
Through the link up, Homeserve will signpost Sue Ryder services and involve it in staff training activities. The company’s staff will also raise funds for the charity.
"We are absolutely delighted to have won the HomeServe charity staff vote and want to thank the engineers of HomeServe UK for voting for Sue Ryder,” said the charity’s director of fundraising Caroline Graham.
"This partnership will allow us to continue to provide specialist and compassionate support through our hospices and neurological care centres and to grow the reach of our much-needed online bereavement services.
“This will not only support us in providing assistance for those people in their homes, but also helps us in our ambition to create a society where no one has to face grief or bereavement alone."
HomeServe charity and community manager Greg Shelton added: “The vital work of our new partners at Sue Ryder means care and support for people in the comfort of their own homes, during what can often be the most difficult time of their lives.
“We look forward to a long, successful partnership.”
