The Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families supports distressed children and their families through innovative therapeutic practice and research, training and promoting awareness of mental health issues. In April 2019, the Centre opened its new Centre of Excellence located in King’s Cross.

The Centre values diversity and aims to have a workforce that reflects this. We encourage applications from all sections of the community.

We are seeing an unprecedented growth in demand for mental health support for children and families and we are developing an ambitious new strategy to meet it. To do this, we are expanding our high-performing Communications team by appointing a new Social Media Officer post. We are on the lookout for an exceptional social media professional with the creative skills to develop compelling and targeted content for our highly engaged stakeholders, using a range of multi-media tools. You will need razor-sharp analytical skills to report and continually improve our social media reach and engagement; and you will be able to plan and package all our work into a coherent narrative to support our brand. You will be agile, smart and ambitious, and demonstrate a commitment to promoting better mental health for children and families by engaging current and emerging audiences with our ground-breaking research, clinical practice, resources and inspiring stories.

The Centre has moved to a hybrid model of working (a mixture of onsite and home/remote working). From March 2022, staff will work onsite for at least 40% of their working hours, either at the Anna Freud Centre in King’s Cross (4-8 Rodney Street, London N1 9JH) or our Northern Hub in Manchester (Huckletree, The Express Building, 9 Great Ancoats Street, Manchester M4 5AD).
