The Sarasin & Partners Compendium of Investment has been published.
This reference work was created to help make trustees of charities to be more aware of the implications of managing the investments of charities and to give them a better understanding of how to go about establishing an investment policy and the process of appointing an external investment management firm.
Richard Maitland, partner and head of charities at Sarasin & Partners, said:
"Becoming a trustee is an honour not to be taken lightly; a group of people are, by way of invitation, confirming your knowledge, leadership skills, wisdom and willingness to put a good cause before profit.
"As one of the largest managers of Charity investments in the UK, we recognise the importance of sharing with trustees and those responsible for private wealth, the knowledge we have gained over many years."
9,000 copies of the Sarasin & Partners Compendium of Investment are published and distributed to charity trustees across the UK.
Combined with chapters about corporate governance, climate change, index-tracking and how to appoint a fund manager (including a section on the many ways a fund manager can seek to charge you), trustees will hopefully be well-armed in the quest to find the most appropriate policy for their charity.
Sarasin & Partners manages investments for over 200 Charities totalling approximately £2.1billion.
