Margaret Lynch has been confirmed as the new chief executive of Citizens Advice Scotland (CAS).
She will formally take up the post on 1st July 2012.
Currently director of the Scottish Mediation Network, Lynch’s CV includes extensive experience of the voluntary sector, including prominent roles at the Scottish Council for Voluntary Organisations (SCVO), War on Want, and the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF).
Lynch said: “The CAB service is enormously trusted and respected by the public, the third sector and the politicial establishment alike. That’s because of the crucial and unique role it plays – both locally and nationally – in helping vulnerable people and influencing public policy.
“This has never been more true than it is at the moment. The recession, welfare reforms and public sector cuts are putting huge pressures on vulnerable Scots. CAS has been right at the forefront of campaigning on those issues and securing change, and it must continue to play that role."
