The National Council for Voluntary Organisations today launched its new website and online communities at: www.ncvo-vol.org.uk.
NCVO's new site will continue to provide a wealth of information, advice and support for voluntary and community organisations, with a fresh new design and improved navigation.
The major difference is that www.ncvo-vol.org.uk will allow individuals to discuss, share and connect online with NCVO's 7500 strong community of members.
New features include:
Questions & Answers: NCVO members can post their questions and answer those of others, tapping into the collective knowledge of our 7,500+ member organisations
Ask The Expert: NCVO members will be able to ask questions on a specific topic throughout the week; an acknowledged expert will then join the discussion on Friday, respond to the questions, and continue the debate.
Blogs: NCVO staff will be blogging about their particular areas of work and some of the issues they are facing, the work they are doing and their experiences.
Networking Directory: on registering with the site, users can opt to have their profile displayed in the networking directory.
Search: a much-improved and enhanced search function that will give users quicker and easier access to the information they are looking for.
Emma Moore, head of information and publishing at NCVO, said: "NCVO's new website is a significant step forward which enables our extensive and vibrant community of members to meet and interact with each other, form new networks, and share knowledge and good practice.
"NCVO's role is to facilitate and support this engagement. By harnessing the power of the web we are able to better serve our members and strengthen the sector."
NCVO's website has been developed with SiftGroups and is sponsored by Phoenix Software.
