NCVO and Acevo to work jointly to promote voluntary sector

NCVO and Acevo have agreed to work together to promote the positive impact of the voluntary sector.

Work on coordinating efforts is now underway, after the decision to work together was taken at a meeting of the chairs, vice-chairs and chief executives of the organisations last week.

In a joint statement, Acevo chair Paul Farmer and NCVO chair Martyn Lewis said the organisations’ chief executives have been asked to flesh out a framework agreed at the meeting to coordinate several existing projects and develop new initiatives.

“'The members of both our organisations have been telling us that they would like us to work together to make the case for a strong charity sector, especially with the risk of some negative stories about charities unfairly affecting the sector as a whole,” the chairs said.
