Institute of Fundraising announces new partnership with Blackbaud

The Institute of Fundraising (IoF) has announced a new partnership with Blackbaud Europe to capture and provide unique analysis on online giving data within the UK.

The information and data will be showcased on the Institute website on a monthly basis to provide a snapshot overview of online giving trends.

The aim is for this free resource to provide meaningful information for fundraisers as an indicator of online giving over a period of 12 months, updated at the beginning of each month.

Peter Lewis, chief executive of the IoF, said: “It’s no surprise that online fundraising is rapidly growing and should now be a reliable and staple part of any fundraising strategy.

"Our partnership with Blackbaud means we can continue to support fundraisers in this area and provide unique information on online giving to help fundraisers make strategic and informed decisions about their online fundraising activities.”

Adrian Cutcliffe, marketing manager at Blackbaud Europe said the latest figures for March 2012 place the average online gift at £57.57.

"Over the year, giving tends to peak in the traditional pre-Christmas period, when, in the months of November and December alone, charities can receive 30%+ of their total annual online income.

"It’s crucially important that organisations can benchmark their own operations in order to optimise their fundraising. In ensuring Institute members can share in our market intelligence and the insights this can provide, we hope we can help empower their fundraising strategies and forward planning.”

The UK Online Giving Trend will go live from 2nd May 2012 at the following web: link.
