The Institute of Fundraising is to begin the process of recruiting a new chief Executive as Lindsay Boswell announces he is to leave the umbrella body after ten years.
Boswell will join FareShare, the charity supporting communities to relieve food poverty, in October.
The recruitment process will start immediately, managed by Olga Johnson from Harris Hill.
IoF chair, Paul Amadi, said: "Lindsay has transformed the Institute from ICFM to the leadership voice for the fundraising profession that it is today. After ten years he is taking up the exciting challenge of a new role and we wish him all the best.
"He leaves the IoF with a clear strategy and sound financial plans in place, backed up by a very able and dynamic senior management team. The task the fundraising profession faces over the coming years is immense and this is an exciting opportunity for the successful candidate to have a major influence on supporting the growth and development of fundraising."
Lindsay Boswell said: "IoF is a team and I am only one part of that team. We have a great board, an experienced SMT, excellent staff and a clear vision for what needs to be done today, tomorrow and next year. It has been a privilege to work with the Institute but now is a good time for me to make this move and my first act at FareShare will be to get them to join IoF, as the benefits of shared knowledge and expertise is essential.
"I have loved working for the IoF and it was always going need a very special cause to get me to move on. FareShare are ambitious and aim to grow from providing 7.5million meals to 25 million meals a year, feeding more than 100,000 people per day. I am passionate and excited about the future for both organisations."
Adam Sampson, chair of FareShare, commented: "We are delighted to have Lindsay joining us in October. He has a very hard act to follow in our founding chief executive, Tony Lowe, who is taking a well earned rest and spending the next year travelling with his family having spent years putting Fareshare on the map.
"But in Lindsay, we have found someone with the right mix of skills and experience to take Fareshare to the next stage in its development."
