• Former BVA and BSAVA president Ted Chandler has been elevated to vice president status at Dogs Trust.
A council member for 14 years, Chandler has been a main contributor to the charity's Canine Welfare Grants Committee. He has a background in veterinary service.
The appointment came after he was unanimously voted in at the charity's recent meeting, and will join fellow veterinarian Rose McIlrath and past Dogs Trust chair Ann Woodall.
• Athena Lamnisos has been appointed chief executive of gynaecological cancer research charity The Eve Appeal. She will start her new role in October and will work closely with chair of trustees Helena Morrissey.
Lamnisos has held senior positions in both the charity and private sectors. Roles have included director of communications and fundraising at Friends of the Earth, 14 years as a board director for ethical PR agency Forster Communications and, most recently, bringing together a new external affairs directorate at social action charity, Community Links.
• Dominic Williamson has been appointed as the new executive director of strategy and policy at St Mungo's Broadway.
Williamson takes up the post early in 2015, joining from Revolving Doors Agency where he has been chief executive for five years. Prior to 2009 he was director of policy, practice and campaigns at Homeless Link and has previously managed a range of frontline homelessness services run by Providence Row Housing Association, Shelter and St Mungo's.
• Edward Bickham has been appointed chair of the Institute of Business Ethics.
Bickham holds a number of senior advisory and consulting roles in the mining and oil and gas sectors. He acts as strategic adviser to the International Council on Mining and Metals and a senior adviser to Critical Resource Ltd. Last year Bickham stepped down after serving for seven years at board level with the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative.
He succeeds Chris Moorhouse, who has served as IBE chair since 2006.
