Criminal justice charity director takes top role at Prisoners Abroad

Human rights charity Prisoners Abroad has named Christopher Stacey at its next chief executive.

Stacey, who is currently support and development director at criminal justice charity Clinks, joins in May and takes over from Pauline Crowe, who announced her retirement last September after 20 years in the role.

“Prisoners Abroad is a truly unique charity and I am excited to bring my passion for supporting people caught up in the criminal justice system; helping people through some of the most difficult times in their lives and enabling them to face the future with hope, dignity and opportunity,” said Stacey.

“I look forward to working alongside the committed and talented team of staff, trustees and volunteers, and work with the charity’s supporters and key stakeholders, to champion the importance of the work that Prisoners Abroad does so that its crucial services are enhanced and strengthened.”

Stacey is also a trustee of YMCA Lincolnshire and has also developed services, campaigns and policy at another criminal justice charity, Unlock.
