FALLING SHORT FOR MANY MAILING HOUSES |

The
mailing house industry has been heavily criticised for not meeting the required
standards of service by the British Accreditation Bureau (BAB).
Its annual client satisfaction survey has found that 10% of firms which
hold the Quality Standard for Mail Production (QMP) fall short of its requirements.
Those which do not meet the benchmark have been suspended from the QMP scheme
and had their details withdrawn from its website.
They have also been issued with guidance notes regarding their rights to
appeal the decision, and are being encouraged to re-take the survey within
six months.
BAB operations director Samantha Hicks says: "We are finding the results
of the survey are becoming more important for customers. Many invitations
to tender now have QMP as a pre-requisite."
