Charities
are being urged to use January as a "prime time" to reawaken the
commitment of lapsed donors following the busy Christmas appeals.
Personal Telephone Fundraising claims that, as the New Year tends to be
a quiet period for new campaigns, it provides the perfect opportunity to
catch up with non-responders.
Strategic director Rob Reaks says: "By calling them during the 'halo'
period of Christmas and New Year to remind them how worthwhile your work
is, you stand to make the most of the season of goodwill and boost appeal
income."
The group also advises charities to begin preparing legacy calls now, as
research by the Legacy Promotion Campain shows the busiest time for people
writing or updating wills is the springtime.
