A
national programme to promote locally-based sustainable energy projects
has launched a new online service to help projects find the funding they
need.
The Community Action for Energy (CAfE) funding database is part of the group's
new and improved website and can be searched by region or by specific type
of funding.
Funding sources listed include those available through partnerships with
local councils, energy suppliers and other groups, as well as national funds
and grants.
The database provides a summary including a brief description, eligibility
criteria, eligible expenditure, grant limits, timeframes, deadlines and
further contact details.
"Feedback we’ve had from members of the CAfE network is that one of
the most challenging aspects of getting a project off the ground is finding
out what funding is out there and tapping into it,” says Richard Hoggett
from Community Action for Energy.
"The new database, plus the other resources on the site, should prove
a valuable tool for anyone wanting to get a local energy efficiency or renewable
energy scheme under way.”
The website also offers a range of other services including downloadable
case studies, news from UK projects and contact details for other members.
All services as free.
