A
new three-way partnership involving technology giants Dell and Microsoft
will give UK charities huge discounts on their hardware systems and services.
The two firms have joined with Charity Logistics to offer computers, software
and services at a discount of up to 40% to UK voluntary organisations.
The initiative applies to Dell notebooks, desktops, workstations and servers
and adds to the ever-increasing range of services offered by Charity Logistics
in support of other charities.
All non-profits will also benefit from a dedicated Dell support team, trained
to advise on a range of technology product and service solutions.
Bill Rodrigues, vice-president of Dell UK, says: "Dell believes in making
positive contributions in every community we call home, through support
from our individual employees and from our organisation as a whole. This
initiative demonstrates our commitment to charitable organisations in the
UK, to help them benefit from more affordable technology."
David Burrows, the director of the voluntary sector at Microsoft UK, says:
"At Microsoft, we are committed to helping individuals, companies and organisations
use technology to achieve their goals and realise their full potential.
"We believe we have a responsibility to contribute to the wider community
through our business activities which is why we offer reduced pricing for
charities who can benefit from significant savings on the full commercial
price of our software."
George Cook, CEO of Charity Logistics said: "This partnership offers very
real benefits to non-profit organisations. It clearly demonstrates Dell's
corporate social responsibility and Microsoft's community spirit."
Non-profit organisations wishing to take advantage of this offer should,
in the first instance, visit Dell’s charity page at www.dell.co.uk/charity
or call its specialised support team on 0870 907 5793.
