PROPOSALS TO ENSURE COMPACT MEETS ALL SECTOR'S NEEDS |

The
Compact Funding Code has been revised to incorporate the requirements for
the recovery of all costs incurred by charities in partnerships for the
first time.
The revised code resources the sector's full role adequately on a full cost
recovery basis through the full mix of funding arrangements, and brings
contracts explicitly within the Compact's scope for the first time –
a crucial part of boosting the sector's public service delivery role.
The new draft also covers partnership programmes from development to working
in a Compact way. The code has proved highly influential at a local level
and the local scene is now specifically addressed by the proposals.
The Compact Working Group is asking for online responses to the new plans
at www.thecompact.org.uk/latestnews.htm.
A free consultation event is also planned for January 19 at the NCVO's offices
in London. The event aims to brief attendees on the proposals, and give
the sector the chance to shape the final document.
