COST-EFFECTIVE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFERED TO CHARITIES 05/08/03

A low-cost press release writing and distribution service has been launched for the voluntary sector by Press Dispensary.

Aimed at organisations without in-house PR skills and which cannot afford to employ an expensive PR agency, the firm charges by the job, at just £110 for press release writing, £110 for distribution and £195 for a combined package, where the two services are ordered together.

It is currently offering registered charities a 20% discount on these fees, which is automatically applied when any group orders the service through its website.

Press Dispensary also holds a regularly updated media list of more than 16,000 contacts and will distribute the customer's press release to a specially targeted list of UK print and online publications and opinion formers.

Greg Bourne, chief executive, comments: "It can be difficult for not-for-profit organisations to find a PR service to meet their needs. They are faced with choosing a full-service agency which is over-blown for the job or trying to cobble together the skills themselves."

As an additional service, Press Dispensary is also offering to produce and host virtual press offices (VPOs) for customers, containing press releases, company backgrounders, biographies of key personnel and downloadable logos and photographs.
