Key governance and
investment issues concerning some of the UK’s largest charities
will soon be under the spotlight due to a new survey scheduled to take
place over coming months.
The survey, conducted
by Watson Wyatt, one of the country’s largest investment consulting
firms and supported by Charity Times, will form part of a comprehensive
research project into current practices and industry issues among European
charities. Trustees taking part in the study will answer a range of questions
on such issues as governance structure and the decision-making processes
currently in place for key matters such as investment policy, disbursements
and personnel.
“We’d
like to shed light on the attitudes of charity trustees and governors
around Europe towards fundamental issues affecting the investment policy
and governance of charities,” explains researcher Mirko Cardinale.
The results are to
be published in the new year by Charity Times and those participating
will receive a short report, detailing the main results of the UK survey
and how they compare with other European countries. Interested parties
should email peterd@charitytimes.com
for details.
