| Scotland’s
charity trustees have received guidance from the Office of
the Scottish Charity Regulator detailing their responsibilities
under new legislation.
The document aims to assist the trustees of Scotland’s
21,500 charities to understand what is required of them
under the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act
2005.
Guidance for Charity Trustees explains general duties such
as acting in the interests of the charity, care and diligence
and corporate responsibility. It also contains information
on specific tasks such as reporting to OSCR, compiling financial
records and providing information to the public.
