The service “Click” will be available to charities
with an income of £250 thousand or more by the end of September,
with access for charities with incomes less than £250 thousand expected
for the end of the year. The gateway homepage will be secured by a password
issued to charities.
Functions of the service include informing charities when
their annual return is available for completion, which can then be completed
electronically; updating information on the central register of charities;
and the ability to contact the commission and transfer documents via a
secure email link.
The service is not yet live, but once it is the Commission
will be issuing a dedicated support telephone line for those using or
wishing to use the system. Online registration is not yet possible, but
is expected to be included in the second phase of the Commission’s
online services project in November.
