A million pounds has been put up by the National Endowment
for Science, Technology and the Arts (NESTA) for groups that
can demonstrate new ways to tackle climate change.
The Big Green Challenge is set to run over two years, and
will call on organisations or groups to demonstrate new
ways to reduce their C02 emissions. The group with the most
imaginative and effective approach at the end of the two
years will receive a share of the £1 million fund.
The competition will be open for initial applications from
January to the end of February 2008, with a shortlist of
10 to be announced next summer. The short-listed organisations
will then have a year to put their idea into practice.
