NCVO has launched a suite of new services for the support
and development of voluntary sector leaders.
Leadership Services, targeting chairs, trustees,
chief executives and directors, aims to provide networking
services and personal development opportunities. Partners
in the new service include Cass Centre for Charity Effectiveness,
Warwick University Business School, the Institute of Fundraising,
and the Institute of Directors.
NCVO’s chief executive Stuart Etherington described
the skills that voluntary sector leaders needed as distinct
and multidimensional, ranging from different reporting environments
and investment strategies to increasingly complex demands
from funders and investors. “These services will therefore
help to support established and emerging leaders and are
open to everyone in the sector,” he said.
The services will include a network for young and emerging
leaders; a fully interactive web resource for strategic
planners; executive coaching services; and legal support,
to name a few.
