Majority of donors say 'yes' to Gift Aid online 03/10/06

Bmycharity, a provider of online fundraising and sponsorship consultancy and services, has revealed new research which shows charities benefit from Gift Aid conversion through online fundraising techniques more so than conventional fundraising methods.

While recent research from nfpSynergy showed that donor conversion to Gift Aid through traditional fundraising techniques was relatively low, Bmycharity’s results found that charities using online fundraising increase average total income by 20%, converting, on average, over 75% of those eligible for Gift Aid.

Sacha Anthony, head of charity services at Bmycharity, said: “The reason why take up of the Gift Aid scheme is so high amongst online donors is because it is incredibly quick and easy to do – donors just need to tick a box when they complete the donation form… Our research shows that online fundraising and tax efficient giving are perfect partners.”
