Charities helping
the South Asia earthquake relief effort have been invited to post details
of supplies, equipment and services they need on the In Kind Direct website
in an attempt to encourage donations from companies.
Robin Boles, chief
executive at In Kind Direct, a charity that distributes goods from industry
to good causes, says that although many companies have already donated
large sums of money, it is possible to help further by donating goods.
“We also want
to ensure goods donated are exactly what the charities need. We know from
experience that not all goods donations, however well intentioned, are
appropriate. The website “wish list” will help overcome this”,
she added.
Any registered charities
working on the relief effort can use the free matching service. For more
