Study seeks best practice in service delivery 12/11/07

A new study to address the challenges of delivering social welfare services has been launched at Nottingham Trent University.

Funded by the Economic and Social Research Council, the study Delivering Public Services in the Mixed Economy of Welfare: Putting Research into Practice is seeking to develop a model of best practice for service delivery. It will draw on the experiences of statutory and voluntary agencies with the aim of producing resources to support effective working relationships between the two.

The project is a collaborative effort between Nottingham Trent University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Newcastle University and Age Concern England. It is aimed at policy makers in the East Midlands and the North East.

A spokesperson for Nottingham Trent University said the project was due to be completed by the end of March 2008, with online resources to be made available in April 2008.
